Estate Planning & Asset Protection
I help my clients secure their family’s financial futures through estate planning and asset protection. Serving San Francisco, Palo Alto, Santa Clara and the greater Bay Area, my areas of practice include:
- Estate Planning for Families with Children, Elders, Special Needs Families, Long Term Care, Business Owners and Entrepreneurs, Single Parents, and the Divorced
- Asset Protection for Doctors and Dentists, Real Estate Developers, and Business Owners

My goal is to simplify the complexities of estate planning and asset protection so that my clients can fully understand all of their options. I will craft a custom estate plan or asset protection plan that will help secure the financial future of my clients and their families. I strive to create a lifelong relationship with my clients and not just a one-time interaction. To help accomplish this I let my clients know that they can contact me anytime free of charge with questions or concerns.
Why Estate Planning?
Starting my estate planning practice was an interesting career journey that has led me to a place where I am passionate about what I do. I had a successful practice in criminal defensive but one day as I was sitting down with a client, who had allegedly broken a bouncer’s jaw, I asked him what happened and he simply replied, with no remorse, that he was a bad drunk. I immediately realized this was not why I went to law school and that I needed to find a new area of law to practice. I went to law school because I wanted to help people and make a positive difference in other’s lives.
With so many areas of law to choose from, I recounted all the different law school courses I took and the different experiences I had as a law clerk and young associate after law school. One experience that stood out to me the most was before moving to the Bay Area when I worked at a small estate planning practice in Connecticut. I was helping clients with taking care of their families and loved ones. I felt good about what I was doing and happy that I was helping people through what could be a very difficult time in their lives. With that recollection, I knew estate planning was an important and personally fulfilling area of law that I wanted to practice for the rest of my career as an attorney. It was in that moment that Cross Law Estate Planning was created.
Many attorneys view estate planning as merely one-time transactional work but I have always thought of it as a long term relationship. I take the time to get to know my clients and build an ongoing relationship. I educate my clients about maintaining their estate plan so when the time comes, the estate plan works seamlessly. I ensure that all assets are titled correctly, that my clients know how certain life or business events affect their estate plan, and I let clients know how often their plan needs to be reviewed. Finally, I help my clients pass on more than just their assets, but their life experiences, knowledge and values through a process called Legacy Planning. Legacy Planning provides a format through videos and writings for my clients to pass along valuable knowledge to loved ones.
Cross Law bills all work on a flat fee schedule so my clients will never be surprised by an invoice they receive. Because of the flat fee schedule, clients know they can call my office free of charge and if they have a complicated question we can always set up a time to meet in person.
When I’m not serving clients’ needs, I can be found exploring all that the Bay Area has to offer with my wonderful wife, Charisse, or playing softball. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2002 and Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005.
