Estate planning can feel overwhelming and intimidating at first. After drafting hundreds of estate plans, I have learned how to simplify the process so my clients can fully understand their options. I will work with you to create a custom estate plan that addresses your family’s unique current and future needs.

What you can expect in working with me

David Cross, Estate Planning AttorneyMany attorneys view estate planning as merely a one-time transaction. I’ve always thought of it as a long-term relationship. I take the time to get to know my clients and build an ongoing relationship. When we work together, I’ll help you:

  • Understand the terms of your estate plan and how to maintain it so that it works seamlessly when needed.
  • Understand how certain events in life will affect your plan.

At Cross Estate Planning Law, we usually charge a flat fee for most of our planning work, so you won’t be surprised by a hefty bill. As a client, you can email me anytime with questions or concerns at no extra cost. If your question is more complex, we can easily schedule a brief phone call to discuss it further.

My journey to Cross Estate Planning Law

I was a fledgling criminal law attorney. One day, I met with a client who had allegedly broken a bouncer’s jaw. I asked him what had happened, and he replied, without any remorse, that he was just a bad drunk. In that moment, I realized this was not the reason I had gone to law school. My goal was to help people and make a positive difference in their lives. Simply put, I needed to find an area of law that I could truly be passionate about.

As I reflect on my next chapter, I recall the various law school courses I took and the experiences I had as a law clerk and young associate. One memory stands out: before moving to the Bay Area, I worked at a small estate planning practice in Connecticut, where I helped clients take care of their loved ones. I felt a deep sense of fulfillment from what I was doing, knowing I was assisting people during a challenging time. This experience made it clear to me that estate planning is an important and personally rewarding area of law that I want to practice for the rest of my career. In that moment, Cross Estate Planning Law was born.

A bit more about me: When I’m not serving my clients, you can find me coaching my son’s little league team, watching my daughter’s dance recitals, or doing other family activities with my wonderful wife, Charisse. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2002 and Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005.

I look forward to assisting you in securing your family’s legacy.

All the best,

Dave Cross
