Estate planning and asset protection can seem intimidating at first. My goal is to simplify the process so that you can fully understand all of your options. I’ll work with you to craft a custom estate plan or asset protection plan that will help secure your financial future and that of your family.

What you can expect in working with me

David Cross, Estate Planning AttorneyMany attorneys view estate planning as merely a one-time transaction. I’ve always thought of it as a long-term relationship. I take the time to get to know my clients and build an ongoing relationship. When we work together, I’ll help you:

  • Understand how to maintain your estate plan so when the time comes, the plan works seamlessly
  • Understand how certain events in life or business affect your plan
  • Inform you about how often your plan needs to be reviewed

Cross Law estate planning bills all work on a flat fee schedule so you’ll never be surprised by an invoice. As a client, you can call me anytime, free of charge, with questions or concerns. If you have a more complicated question, we can always plan to meet in person.

My journey to Cross Law

I had a successful practice in criminal defense. One day, I sat down with a client who had allegedly broken a bouncer’s jaw. I asked him what happened and he replied, with no remorse, that he was just a bad drunk. I immediately realized this was not why I went to law school. I wanted to help people and make a positive difference in their lives. Simply put, I needed to find an area of law that I could be passionate about.

In thinking about my next chapter, I recounted all the law school courses I took and the different experiences I had as a law clerk and young associate. One memory stood out. Before moving to the Bay Area, I had worked at a small estate planning practice in Connecticut, helping clients take care of their loved ones. I felt good about what I was doing and happy that I was helping people through what could be a very difficult time. That memory made it clear: Estate planning was an important and personally fulfilling area of law, one I wanted to practice for the rest of my career. In that moment, Cross Law Estate Planning was born.

A bit more about me: When I’m not serving clients’ needs, you can find me exploring all that the Bay Area has to offer with my wonderful wife, Charisse, or playing softball. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2002 and Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005.

I look forward to helping you secure the financial future of your family.

Dave Cross
